The Borum® Master 3000 series provides you with a variety of high capacity line marking machines designed for medium to large scale jobs such as marking highways, motorways or airport runways.

The BM 3000 DL RL C is a combination machine that can be used for applying both thermoplastic and cold paint markings in various widths.

The cold paint material tank capacity is 440 L and the thermoplastic material tank is 445 L. The possibility of the large material capacity naturally gives fewer stops during the day for refilling.

The BM 3000 has a two-seat slidable drive and operator section for flexible working on the left or right side.

THERMOPLASTIC NON-PRESSURIZED TANK:

Non-pressurized thermoplastic tank indirectly heated via heat transfer oil. The thermal oil and thermoplastic material temperature is thermostatically controlled and regulated automatically.

Burner system
Diesel burner system for heating of the thermal oil (and thermoplastic). Propane burner available on demand.

Vertical agitator (mixer)

Gear pump SP 2000

The gear pump SP 2000 is especially used for jobs with big lifting height, or long material pipe.

The gear pump is operated by a hydraulic motor. Pump and material pipes are heated by heat transmission oil, which is
circulated by a hydraulically driven pump.

Max capacity is 120 L/min when fed with 30 L/min. hydraulic oil flow.

For the SP 2000 a motor driven PTO can be used for driving a hydraulic pump. An electrically operated control valve govern the gear pump speed.

With this arrangement remote operation of the pump system can easily be performed.

THERMOPLASTIC RIBLINE APPLICATION

The Borum thermoplastic RibLine application equipment can be set to execute lines in widths up to 30 cm.
The RibLine application equipment can apply both flat lines and a combination of lines and ribs.

Mounting the RibLine equipment

The RibLine equipment is mounted directly on the side of the material tank. Alternatively, if the machine is also equipped with a thermoplastic extruder, you can mount it on the side of the extruder.
The equipment is supplied by an automatic filling system with a pneumatic level center.

EXTRUDER SET-UP

The working principle of the extruder lies in the extrusion of the ready hot thermoplastic material through the extruder valves onto the road surface. Glass beads can be automatically applied. The thickness of the line is controlled by the slot gap and the speed of the machine, coupled to the thermoplastic feed rate.

Thermoplastic extruder set-up ranging from 30-50 cm total line width, built-up with 5 cm standard valves (alternative valve dimensions in the range of 4-10 cm for alternative line widths).

EXTRUDER SPECIFICATIONS

Hot-oil heated equipment for optimal performance.

Effective heating of the complete unit using a centrifugal pump, 42 L/min, hydraulically driven.

Pneumatic lifting cylinder for up/down function, operation controlled from operator’s seat.

The shutters do not touch the high tensile steel drum and therefore the lifetime is long.

Pneumatically controlled quick cleaning function for the removal of solids left in the extrusion slots can be activated while extrusion is in process.

Continuous circulation of the thermoplastic inside the equipment. This avoids settling and catching of solid parts and prevents unecessary wear of
mechanical parts.

The application speed goes up to 8-10 km/h. Speed-dependent settings possible.

SCREW PUMP WITH CONTINUOUS RECIRCULATION SYSTEM

The transport of material from tank to extruder head is done by a hydraulically driven screw pump, which is electronically controlled. The screw pump has a permanent thermoplastic recirculation system which ensures a constant flow past the in-active extrusion valves, keeping these clean and ready for opening.

Build-in pressure regulating system ensures that line width and thickness does not change no matter the number of the shutters involved in the current marking assignment.

FEATURES - THERMOPLASTIC EXTRUDER:

Thermoplastic is a durable material that cures quickly and adheres strongly to the road surface. It can be used for applications of both flat lines (also known as type 1 lines) or of thick profiled lines and markings (also known as type 2 lines).

This type o material is used on various types of roads, but you will often see it on highways or motorways as it can outstand high traffic density, it has a high visibility at night and during wet conditions and glass beads can be mixed in for further enhancing visibility.

AIRLESS COLD PAINT EQUIPMENT

The Borum airless cold paint application equipment can be equipped with different sizes of nozzles in order to execute various widths. The equipment can be set to execute line widths up 125 cm in multiple colours.

Cold Paint equipment specifications

Sliding retainer frame, upon which 1-3 paint guns and 1-3 bead guns can be attached as standard. You can also opt for the option wide retainer on which up to 5 paint guns and 5 bead guns can be provided.

Easily slideable retainer from side to side for an optimal working position. Ground distance is maintained by retainer wheel to ensure a constant road marking width.

Lifting of retainer is done from operators seat.

Paint filter with cut-off valve for easy maintenance.

Can be equipped with multiple material tanks, so that multi-color marking can be carried out.

Working speed can be up to 15 km/h depending on the conditions, e.g. material, line type and operator experience.

BM COLD PAINT AIRLESS GUN

Automatic high-performance spray gun. Nozzle set for water based, solvent based and high solid paints. Possibility to apply road marking in widths up to 125 cm (40 in) depending on the number of spray guns depending on nozzle size, line thickness, work conditions, and application speed.

High pressure filter unit with integrated pulsation damper. Easy cleaning and maintenance.

Advantages of Cold Paint Material

High-pressure airless spraying uses a high-pressure airless piston pump to spray the paint. The airless spray paint is sharper and smoother than atomized spray as there is no high-speed air flow to scatter any rebounding paint.

The marked lines are neat and more clear-cut compared to atomizing spray paint. This method can apply paints of high viscosity, and apply relatively thick layers in a single pass. However, the paint cannot be mixed in with glass beads as in the case of atomizing spray equipment due to the pump.
