The Borum® Master 5000 series provides you with a variety of high capacity line marking machines designed for large scale jobs such as marking highways, motorways or airport runways.

The BM 5000 DL RL CA is a combination machine that can be used for applying both thermoplastic and cold paint markings in various widths.

The cold paint material tank capacity is 440 L and the plastic material tank is 585 L The possibility of the large material capacity naturally gives fewer stops during the day for refilling.

The BM 5000 has a two-seat slidable drive and operator section for flexible working on left or right side.

THERMOPLASTIC NON-PRESSURIZED TANK:

Non-pressurized thermoplastic tank indirectly heated via heat transfer oil. The thermal oil and thermoplastic material temperature is thermostatically controlled and regulated automatically.

Vertical agitator (mixer)
With hydraulic transmission. Heated center pipe for efficient uniform temperature control. Perfect melting & homogenization of the thermoplastic. Stable construction with foundation and bearings at the top of the material tank.

Burner system
Diesel burner system for heating of the thermal oil (and thermoplastic). Propane burner available on demand.

STAINLESS TANK (OPTION)

Pressurised material tank and filters in stainless steel for water and ammonium based paints.
Dual stroke high pressure airless pump.
Capacity: Up to 24 litres/min (6,5 gal/min)
Max pressure: 270 bar (3915 psi).
Reduced valve strokes for optimal handling of paint pressurised material tank and filters in stainless steel for water and ammonium based paints.

Gear pump SP 2000

The gear pump SP 2000 is especially used for jobs with big lifting height, or long material pipe.

The gear pump is operated by a hydraulic motor. Pump and material pipes are heated by heat transmission oil, which is
circulated by a hydraulically driven pump.

Max capacity is 120 L/min when fed with 30 L/min. hydraulic oil flow.

For the SP 2000 a motor driven PTO can be used for driving a hydraulic pump. An electrically operated control valve govern the gear pump speed.

With this arrangement remote operation of the pump system can easily be performed.

THERMOPLASTIC RIBLINE APPLICATION

The Borum thermoplastic RibLine application equipment can be set to execute lines in widths up to 30 cm.
The RibLine application equipment can apply both flat lines and a combination of lines and ribs.

Mounting the RibLine equipment

The RibLine equipment is mounted directly on the side of the material tank. Alternatively, if the machine is also equipped with a thermoplastic extruder, you can mount it on the side of the extruder.
The equipment is supplied by an automatic filling system with a pneumatic level center.

3-in-1 solution for thermoplastic markings

The Dot’n line system offers a three-in-one solution for thermoplastic markings. This equipment can apply flat lines, dots and unique combination of lines and dots using only one extruder head.

In the drawing you can see examples of different valve set-ups giving different widths. The equipment's width can be between 30-50 cm. The line width starts at 5 cm and can be built up to 50 cm with 5 cm standard valves.

Dot specifications

By using two sets of shutters the base line time to cure slightly before the Dots are applied and consequently the Dots will settle on top of the line with sharp edges, securing the optimum retroreflection.

Diameter of dots can be chosen between ø18 and ø 45 mm depending on the chosen drum. Number of dots/meter is 15-35 dots and is controlled by the LineMaster.

The shutters do not touch the high tensile steel drum and therefore the lifetime is prolonged.

Effective heating of the complete unit using a centrifugal pump, 42 L/min, hydraulically driven.

Continuous circulation of the thermoplastic material inside the equipment. This avoids settling and catching of solid parts and prevents unnecessary wear of mechanical parts.

The application speed depends on the type of application and goes up to 6 km/h.

SCREW PUMP WITH CONTINUOUS RECIRCULATION SYSTEM

The transport of material from tank to Dot'n'Line head is done by a hydraulically driven screw pump, which is electronically controlled. The screw pump has a permanent thermoplastic re-circulation system, which ensures a constant flow also past the in-active extrusion valves, keeping solid parts from adhering and ready for opening.

Build-in pressure regulating system ensures that line width and thickness do not change no matter the number of the shutters involved in the current marking assignment.

Advantages of profiled dot markings

Having numerous dots gives the light a lot of possible areas to fall onto and create a retro-reflective effect. This is essential for having clear visibility, especially while driving during night time.

The drainage effect of the profiled markings ensures that rain water will easily drain away from the lines, thus maintaining high reflective values in rainy weather. This is possible because of the structure that allows the water to drain. Furthermore, the profiled nature of the road marking produces a noise when driven over that will warn the driver against driving off the road.

EQUIPMENT Set-up

The Borum airless cold paint application equipment can be equipped with different sizes of nozzles in order to execute various widths. The equipment can be set to execute line widths up 100 cm in multiple colours.

Cold Paint equipment specifications

Sliding retainer frame, upon which 1-3 paint guns and 1-3 bead guns are attached. Easily slideable from side to side for an optimal working position.
Ground distance is maintained by retainer wheel to ensure a constant road marking width.

Lifting of retainer is done from operators seat.

Pneumatic cylinder, foundation and pneumatic solenoid valve.

Paint filter with cut-off valve for easy maintenance.

With one way valve allowing up to 8 hose connections (1 return hose, 5 paint guns and 1 hand paint gun). All hoses are of big dimensions to minimize the pressure loss giving an optimal result on the road.

BM COLD PAINT AIRLESS GUN

Automatic high-performance spray gun. Nozzle set for water based, solvent based and high solid paints. Possibility to apply road marking in widths from 8-100cm (3-40 in) depending on the number of spray guns and nozzles.

High pressure filter unit with integrated pulsation damper. Easy cleaning and maintenance.

Advantages of Cold Paint Material

Cold paint material is a cost effective solution for executing flat markings over asphalt pavements and for use in repairments. The Borum cold paint application equipment can accomodate any type of line marking job as it can be set to execute lines in widths of 8-100 cm. Furthermore, depending on the choice of material tanks and additional pump, it is possible to apply lines in different colours at the same time.

CLEANING SYSTEM

10L pressure solvent tank for cleaning of hoses and paint guns.

LineMaster features

The Borum LineMaster allows you efficient control of all line marking tasks, from line application and pre-marking to reporting and invoicing. It is possible to store up to 99 different line types, and to arrange these in up to 30 different marking programs. You are also able to pre-set line widths, line types, colours and combinations to have them ready for marking, and can instantly adjust them on the go.
